There is nothing better than salt in the air and sand in my hair (what's left of it).

Goodbye 2015

2015 is just about a wrap. All in all we had a decent year of surf. I appreciate all the friendships I've made through this magical place and hope that the 2016 El Nino delivers ample amounts of vitamin sea. See you in the water soon.

I Like It When It's Colder Than....

Pretty chilly this morning. It was 32° in SJC when I got in the car at 0-dark-thirty. Pretty fun for the the first hour and a half, then the incoming tide slowed things down. But it was enough time to catch a handful of chest high waves. And the cold morning kept a lot of folks in bed; truth be told I was really close to sleeping in too.

Here's our little buddy from last week; he didn't make it.

Our 11 yr old pug Lucy had a boo-boo this week. She's doing good now.

Dead Flat

Looks pretty dismal today. And the following 5 days will be epic knee high slop from a very shadowed WNW-NW mix of swells. Glad I elected to work this week. Meanwhile, I getting fatter by the day.....

Here's some pictures from earlier this year:

Not All Time, But I'll Take It

The first hour was pretty fun, but the 6.6 high tide at 7:30 was just too much for it. Still I surfed till 8:30 waiting for that occasional nugget. Glad I paddled out early.

Poor little fella, wasn't feeling good. He wouldn't / couldn't move.
