There is nothing better than salt in the air and sand in my hair (what's left of it).

It's Been A While

I haven't surfed in 3 weeks. I got all excited this morning when I saw 2.0 on the O-side buoy and I wasn't traveling, sick or committed to going into work early. By the time I reached the parking lot it had backed down to 1.6. The primary swell was out of the WNW which usually means not too much juice and soft shoulders. I really struggled the first hour even catching a decent wave, it was so small. At 7:00 it seemed to pick up and I caught a few nice ones before I had to leave for an 8:00 call. I was a little late for the call but so was everybody else; typical, I'm glad I didn't hurry too much. Did I mention that it was damn cold this morning?

Dry Spell

I haven't surfed for 11 days.

I've been on the road a lot for work and when I'm home I'm either sick or it's flat or it's blown out. I may try to hit it tomorrow, but we'll see if I can squeeze it in with all my family commitments.

I hope you all have a great Thanksgiving holiday, enjoy your families and I'll see you down at uppers sometime soon.

Sick

Picked up a nasty cold this week while traveling to Dallas. Looks like it was pretty good this morning. I don't know why I torture myself. And now I have to travel to Europe next week.
Here's some video of this morning complements of Surfline download. That would probably be Bane on the first wave of this set.

Weak, Weak, High Tide

But at least we got wet. Tomorrow is out (bad wind) and Wednesday I gotta go to Dallas for a couple of days. Hopefully Friday has more to offer.

Work, Work, Grandkids

Haven't been surfing the past week, been really busy at work and then spent the weekend with the grand-kids. Not complaining, work is a necessary evil and the g-kids always come first. Had a blast hanging out with these little monsters.

More Windswell

I knew Tuesday and Wednesday were likely to have bad wind, so I forced myself to go this morning even though I was beat from yesterday and the wind was iffy. Turned out to be hard offshore most of the morning, shoulder high and a lot more peaky than yesterday.

Classic Uppers

Combine Halloween with the time change so the early risers can get their candy. Shoulder high plus zippers with minimal participants. Especially that first hour. Here's Troy:
