About What I Expected

We had a small sectiony W windswell in the 72° water, a SE wind that laid down quickly and less than ten people in the line up.  Which made for a pretty fun.....  Who am I trying to kid?  Small, sectiony, and weak.  Thank God I brought my short fat fish or it would have been way worse!

70 mph on the fwy and this guy was still hangin' on, not too happy about it though!

Drained Out Windswell With Morning Sickness

That pretty much sums up the first hour.  Paddled out at 5:15 and only caught two mediocre waist high waves in that first hour.  Then a few sets started rolling through; emphasis on rolling.  Managed to get 8 or 10 waves the second hour with one shoulder high screamer like the first sequence below.   Not the most memorable of sessions but the water was 70°+, it was off shore, and there were only four of us in the water.  No reason to not paddle out and grovel.

The Old Westy Windswell

Just a handful of takers this morning.  Only shoulder high, maybe head high on some sets, 70° water and light SE winds which laid down nice by 6:30.  For some reason I got a ton of waves, must be the board.   I had a Lost… RNF in the 90’s and I rode it till it died.  I’ve got a feeling this will be my go-to board for a while.

Don't Forget About The Bay

Just looked at yesterday's whiny post; I need to man up and get even ☻.
Today was a little bit smaller but still fun.  Took one away from Kevin; now I owe him and Dave.  Gonna have to pay the piper soon.  Moved over to the bay when it started getting lully and caught some of the sets that swung south.  I knew Steve was hiding something over there.

It Was Burn Johnny Day

Even though I got a ton of good waves today, I got burned at least 5 times; mostly by people I know!  Here's the list of people that burned me: JP, Steve, Michael, Mark and the dude with the GoPro.  I have to admit I did burn Dave on a good one, but I blame Jim.  Last thing I heard was Jim "Go John!  He's too deep!".  I glanced back after the late takeoff and saw Dave's board in the foam, so I kept going.  Sorry Dave, I think Jim owes you one.   :-)
