Better Than The Pics

Surfed for a little more than an hour this morning as I had to be on the phone at 7:30.  In at 5:50 and out at 7:05.   Had a blast!  Caught 7 or 8 waves, half of them set waves.  Stayed south of the point where the better waves were sweeping into the bay.   Didn't have time to wait for a real set to take pics so all you get are some in-betweeners.  Some of the local high schools had set-up for a contest on the point; a lot of grumbling in the water about it too.  They were pretty much regulated north of the point.

Beat it Grom, you get nothing and like it!

Full Moon

Paddled out at 5:45, all by myself, with the full moon lighting up the beach.   Could have paddled out an hour earlier there was so much light.  A fairly consistent west windswell provided waves in the belly to chest high range, wind was hard offshore, air 40° and water 58°.   Surfed till 6:30 before the next soul paddled out.   I take that back, there was a seal that was very curious about me.  He was popping up within arms reach all around me this morning.  By 8:00 the tide had put the Kibosh on everything but the bigger set waves; it was time to boogie anyway.  Pretty busy at work the next couple of days, it'll be Friday before I get another break.

There's my little buddy

We Got Wet

Small windswell, not that great at the beginning and really bad when the tide took over.  Had to get wet though.

Barred Again

Perfectly groomed ocean surface and nothing over knee high.   Another dry morning and tomorrow is looking smaller!?!

Love it!

Butterfingers

Ever wake up in the morning and feel a little bit off?   Dropping things and tripping over your own feet?   That pretty much sums up the morning for me.  When I got down to the beach just before 6:00, it was offshore and a chest high set broke on the point.  Paddled out and by the time I made it to the line up the wind had turned onshore.  Got an ok belly high wave right off the bat.  But it was all downhill after that; I must have had 4 donkeys in a row.  I had to do something to break the spell.  So I pulled off my hood.  Spell broken, caught a couple of decent waves and went in.  As I was taking pictures the wind was starting to lay down; I doubt it lasted very long with the approaching storm.

Probably Should Have Slept In

Super inconsistent; again.  Mostly belly to chest high, with a few shoulder high sets.  Probably caught five keepers in 2 1/2 hours. Started off with nice offshores which gradually turned south.
