There is nothing better than salt in the air and sand in my hair (what's left of it).

Next Stop Coeur d'Alene

Another family wedding in beautiful Coeur d'Alene! Flying out first thing in the morning. I should be surfing again on the 10th of August. And the good news is I have no travel scheduled until late October. Hopefully it stays that way. Here's a few pics of an old man by Ruben Pina from July 18th.

Hurricane Darby

Got back from Oahu on Monday. Between work and family commitments I have no time to surf uppers this week. Besides I'm only home for 3 days and then I'm off to Coeur d'Alene Friday for another family wedding and then to Portland Oregon to visit more family. This is what happens when you're 1 of 13 siblings.
I did manage to surf a couple of times while in Oahu, I surfed Queens one day and Canoes another day. We got slammed by Hurricane Darby Saturday and most of Sunday. Thank God the rain held off long enough for my nephew's on-the-beach wedding ceremony. The reception had to be moved from a patio area to a ballroom as the torrential rain was relentless that night.

Two Days In A Row!

I can't believe it either ;-)
Smaller today and a lot more crowded; I guess the word got out. It happens.
I've been thinking of turning this surf blog into a travel blog; since I seem to be on the road more than I'm home lately. Leaving tomorrow for Oahu for my nephew's wedding. As it turns out 6 of my 9 brothers are going. Let's see how many of these ex-surfers I can get to paddle out at Kaisers with me.

Soooo Gooood

Super fun this morning with familiar faces and minimal crowd conditions. We had really nice down the line head high runners. What more can I say; the water was toasty warm too???
