There is nothing better than salt in the air and sand in my hair (what's left of it).

Work Work Work

I've been out of the water for a few weeks now, July 19th was my last surf to be exact and I've totally ignored this blog.

I've got a lot going on at work with two major projects that are at critical stages and a product launch in Q1-2020 that needs babysitting. All three projects are manufactured in Ireland so my mornings are swamped with conference calls; if I'm not traveling back and forth to Ireland (twice now, since July 19th).

Now, add to that the fact that the company I work for is being acquired; which adds a whole other level of complexity and anxiety to my working environment.

So, work pretty much sucks for me right now.

On top of all that my wife and I have decided to downsize. We have a large home on a very large lot and it's just the two of us now. I'm very near retirement, which may come sooner than I think if the acquiring company finds me redundant; which is a very real possibility. So, the timing for making a move like this is really good for us, houses are selling fairly quickly and interest rates are at all time lows.

Don't worry. I'm not moving out of state, inland or anything drastic like that. But we are moving into a condo in San Clemente near my youngest daughter and which puts me just a little bit closer to you know where.

The move should wrap up before the end of September and my projects should be calming down in roughly the same time frame. I hope I get a chance to get in the water soon but there are so many details piling up and purging to be done. We've been in the same house for 33 years!

I'll be back!
