Paddeled out at 5:45 to stiff offshore breeze and waist to chest high waves. Only a few takers today which was good given the size. I had fun. Then when I got home I turned it around and went back with my daughter and granddaughter. We threw rocks, played in the water and I caught a few waves. It was actually a tad bigger than this morning. I'm sunburnt and tired. It's Tecate time.
Friday 29OCT2010. I pulled up to this, nobody out. Couldn't get my wetsuit on fast enough.
There is nothing better than salt in the air and sand in my hair (what's left of it).

Stupid Wind
Skunked again by a SW wind. When I first got down to beach the wind was lite and the ocean was only slightly textured. I had a little hope that it was going to back off. Within 15 minutes it was blowing 10 knots. No pics today, just a screenshot of Lowers from you know where.

Crisp and Clean Morning

It's A Crime
A crime it wasn’t bigger today. Perfect conditions: clear skies, stiff offshore breeze and only a handful of guys out. The waves were belly to chest high and all windswell. Paddled out at 5:30 and was done by 7:15. Still went to work happy having caught a handful of quality small waves.
Should have gone right |

More Schlocky Windswell
Someday we’ll get a real swell without this background windswell crossing things up. In the water at 5:45 to escape the mosquitoes. Was on my way back up the hill by 7:30. Caught a few chest high junk waves but all things considered it was a waste of time. At least the water is getting warmer, it felt like 62/63. Tomorrow’s another day.

I Love Mondays
When it’s shoulder high and off shore that is. It sure makes going into work that much more bearable. Today would have been a good day to play hooky.

Happy Easter
When I paddled out at 5:45 it was glassy. By the time I caught my second wave the south wind picked up and just got worse as the morning progressed. I was done by 7:15. Mike and Phil went to Cotten's, it looked like the wind wasn't as bad up there. Check Surf-A-Pig for Mike's report.

Only a Couple of Donkeys Today
Mostly glassy conditions today with a hint of SE wind. Waves were chest high with an occasional head high wave here and there. Caught my share of fun waves but didn't make a late take-off on a set wave (got drilled) and executed a clumsy exit from a wave trying to get out of Troy's way who was behind me.
Took my grandson to the park after the beach. Here is Tripp the Destroyer |

Lumpy and Bumpy
Belly to shoulder high + waves, glassy for the most part but it still had that residual bump from the overnight wind. I don’t know if it was me or the crummy shape but I didn’t get very many good waves. My timing was off or something. Tomorrow’s another day.

A Glassy Morning
Smooth and glassy with shoulder to head high waves and minus tide. A little funkified with some residual bump from all the wind in the outer waters, but manageable. Caught a few waves where you get to pump around a couple of sections and it would out run you and then a few that connected all the way through. Lots of speed on those waves. Even got a tube ride through a sectiony part of one wave on the inside. I went to work happy.
