Friday 29OCT2010. I pulled up to this, nobody out. Couldn't get my wetsuit on fast enough.
There is nothing better than salt in the air and sand in my hair (what's left of it).

Definitely Winding Down
But a few good sets were left for the early birds. John Caamano and I were the first to paddled out through a nice set of waves and then we got to sit for 15 minutes till the next set came. But after that we had a nice flurry of waves. John got the wave of the morning early when there were still only a handful of us in the water; a nice overhead leg burner. Things slowed down around 7:00, so I chose to grovel on the inside sliders that rolled under the boys on the outside just to stay productive. It's all good.

Winding Down
I chose to take yesterday off since the south wind was pretty strong early in the am and I needed to work on my vintage trailer and seal the roof while the air was cool. Yeah, I started a blog on it. Anyway, the winds behaved today and there were still some fun waves to be had. Not all that crowded, off shore and super warm water.

A $40 Wave
My first wave turned out to be the best one of the morning for me. Caught a clean overhead runner way past the shack. Unfortunately, I couldn't better that wave the rest of the morning. There were a few bombs today, but most of those were pretty lined up. Lowers was probably the place to be. In fact, when I was pulling my bike out of my truck this morning some guy pulled up next to me and offered to pay me $40 to drop him off at the Basilone exit. I respectfully declined. Good thing I did cuz I got a $40 wave instead! :-P
