There is nothing better than salt in the air and sand in my hair (what's left of it).

Mickey Wright

Wish this dude was on the CT.

Micro

But I paddled out anyway at 5:40. I only stayed for a little over an hour. I caught 3 waves in the first 20 minutes and then there was a super long lull. Finally, I just took off on a micro wave and rode it straight through the keyhole just to get outa there. I'm sure it's going to pick up a little when the tide fills in, but I had to get wet before I leave for the northwest tomorrow morning. Hope y'all get some waves while I'm gone.

Pretty Meager

But I paddled out anyway. Why not get wet? The water was in the 70's, the wind was calm and there was just a handful of guys in the water.

Smaller With Perfect Conditions

I had a lot more fun today. My camera completely crapped out, but the new one arrives today. Here's a couple of waves off the Surfline cam.

Lumpy and Bumpy

Hard south wind at dawn, but it slowly subsided and cleaned up nicely. The shape on the other hand was less than optimal. All the pre-dawn wind had done it's damage. Looks like fewer waves in the near future.

Yesterday

I'm out of practice on this blogging thing. I'll try to do better.

Yesterday was a blast. Head high plus, tropical weather (hot, humid and lots of rain) and fun, fun, fun. I'm having problems with my camera and some sequential photos are corrupted. so I ordered a new one.

Waiting For The Super Secret Swell

It's been microscopic the last few days, but it looks like Saturday afternoon through Tuesday will have some swell from Hurricane Hilary, although it may be downgraded some. We'll know in the next 24 hours. Meanwhile, I've been slaving away in front of these two glowing rectangles till my butt aches. As luck would have it I'm busy all day Saturday, but the swell really doesn't arrive until later in the day so the morning will still be pretty small. Get ready to surf with 60 of your closest friends.

Last Saturday

A bit slower on Saturday but still a few good waves came through. We still had toasty warm water and mild off shores.  Ruben was on the beach taking pictures so there's plenty of FB activity too. My humble wave at the end of this post was the best one of the morning for me.

The Kook Returns

First time back in the water since my April 10th injury. I took it real easy, my leg felt solid and I'm STOKED out of my mind.
Waves were chest to head high, the water was toasty warm and I had a blast.
