It Was A Lonely 45 Minutes

Pulled into the parking lot at 5:10 and there wasn't another car in the lot or on the street. Paddled out at 5:20 and caught a half dozen waves until I was joined by Phil. Waves were mediocre except for the occasional shoulder high set, but hey, the water is warming and what else am I going to do at that time of the morning....

I was out of town for a four day weekend with my wife and two of our four grand kids. We were up at Pismo Beach for a Vintage Trailer Rally. I have a 1957 Boles Aero that I'm 95% finished restoring, you can see it here. So needless to say I've missed a few fun days in the water. Hope to go tomorrow but the forecast is weak. Here's a few pictures from the rally:

Somebody's Got To Pull The Wagon

Bogged down with meetings this morning and missed the window before the storm. I survived the root canal but was instructed to take it easy for a couple of days anyway. Fay provides the digital documentation for the day.

Surfing In Pain

I had a sore tooth this morning and after riding back up the hill it really started throbbing.  Went straight to the dentist and am now looking forward to a root canal this afternoon.
The waves were fun though and totally worth the pain.

Lots Of No-Shows

Which is how we like it. Shoulder high plus, off shore and a receding tide. The first hour was pretty fun with just a handful of heads. Then we had the draining affect with intermittent sets. Worth the effort for sure.

Bad Wind

Lots of bad wind early this morning. Thursday's aren't good for me anyway (reoccurring early meetings) so I can live with it. :-P
