After Lunch Sesh at Lahinch

During lunch I met a lot of the locals guys at the pub. Lots of stoke in this town. They said it was crowded today - NOT! After lunch we checked out Lahinch and couldn't resist another go out.

Surf Report For Fanore

Spent the morning surfing a local spot called Fanore in Co Clare with a couple of my friends, a nice little river mouth.  Not too big but pretty fun. The local scenery was unreal and the three of us surfed alone. Then we went for pub grub at Lahinch.

Grudge Match

Froze my ass off tonight watching my buddy Thomas play in a grudge match soccer game. He's the dude in the blue and white. Too bad they lost 4-1.  It cost them a few Guinness'.

The West Coast Of Ireland

Been mostly hunkered down at work since I got here.  I did take a short walk after lunch yesterday on the Western Way trail which passes right next to the plant.  It's a brand new paved walking/biking trail that starts in Leenane and goes for 75 miles out to Achill Island. If the surf is no good this weekend I may rent a bike.

On My Way

Heading to the west coast of Ireland for a couple of weeks. Mostly business, but hoping to surf next weekend. 

Afternoon Delight

Took a break this afternoon and surfed 56th street in Newport for an hour and a half at low tide. Nothing spectacular. Knee to waist high. But I had it all to myself. I used to surf this spot daily in '70s and '80s. Photos courtesy of Surfline rewind.

Not much going on this week. That fat early morning tide isn't helping either. Truth be told it's been dead flat around here:

Wind Waves!

Better than sleeping in, that's for sure. And even though the water is still 68, the air dipped down to 53 this morning and with a hard off shore flow I'm glad I brought my 0.5mil hood (just until the sun came out).
