So far, so good. While his bloodwork numbers have been relatively flat, they are consistent. His Doc is confident that he is doing better than the numbers based on how he looks, his energy level and the fact that he has not had a Platelet transfusion since Feb 28th, prior to the transplant every two to three weeks. They suspect there may be some conflict between his and the donors T cells, which isn't uncommon. On Tuesday they are planning to do another bone marrow biopsy to see how engraftment is progressing. They may ask the donor for some stem cells based on the results of this procedure, again not uncommon. This kid has been through hell and still has a great sense of humor about it all. That's how we know he's getting better.
This COVID-19 lockdown and all the new procedures (hand washing, N95 masks, disinfecting touch points in the house, etc) has been followed by this family for 15 months now.
