Well, after last Friday's surf I went back to the Dermatologist in the afternoon for a follow-up. I didn't share this on my previous post but what they thought was a Cutaneous T-cell Lymphoma on my arm turns out to be just a case of psoriasis. They sent the sample off to the UCSF for a second opinion; UCSF said psoriasis. The steroid cream they gave me cleared it right up. Dodged that bullet.
However, the sample they took out of the middle of my forehead confirmed the presence of pre-cancerous squamous cells. So she gave me a good zap with the liquid nitrogen all around the divot in my forehead. I wanted to surf on the weekend but she did say to stay out of the water for a few days. I should be good to go now, divot and all.
Getting old isn't for sissies.
